HOW IT WORKS

Being coached by Wendy Visconty was an important experience for me, as I experienced a shift in my being, which I had sought for many years. Six months down the line from the phase-out of our interaction, I still feel the impact of our work together.

During our sessions, I felt held, appropriately challenged, heard and understood. I received a reframe in areas in my life in which I used to feel 'stuck'. I believe that a strong field was created in our space where I felt safe to be candid and as authentic as possible. I feel so privileged to have been coached by Wendy, a model for me, as I dream of venturing into this profession too! I would certainly recommend her to friends, colleagues or clients.

The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice that which we are for what we could become.

My Process

My approach is integral. This means that our explorations together will address aspects of heart, mind, body and soul, in the context of self, culture and community, and the natural world. It means my view of human capacity is developmental: we humans continue to evolve and transform until we take our last breath. It means I pay attention to the personal development and rich nuances of each person as we work in partnership to forge a path that leads to a future that is in alignment with your values.

I offer a free one-hour conversation, in person or on the phone, so that we can get to know each other and see if we have a “fit”. If we do, our next meeting will be an intake and will take up to 2 hours; if possible in person. I’ll ask lots of questions, about all areas of your life, so that I fully understand the coaching topic and how it fits into and impacts your life. I’ll spend a week or two looking at your world through my eyes and through yours. I’ll design a coaching program specifically for you.

Next we’ll meet again and I will invite you into this program, and together we’ll adjust it to suit your needs. From this point we’ll meet for an hour, in person or on the phone, 2-4 times per month, using email to check in between meetings. We’ll generally work together for 3 -6 months, sometimes longer.

The program will consist of practices and self-reflections designed to help you build new capacities and see new territories that you are not currently able to see. I may suggest meditation, breathing, somatic/physical practices, journaling, reading specific books or articles, and other practices to create sustainable change. I will draw on behavioral sciences, management literature, somatic wisdom and practices, the arts and spiritual traditions.

A key part of our work will be my deep listening to you, and by so doing I will help you learn, help you integrate and embody your new learning.

We’ll know our partnership has been successful when we see these outcomes:

  1. Long-term excellence
  2. Your ability to self-correct
  3. Competence in being self-generating – being able to continually improve on your own
